Last week we asked readers to translate their experiences with From Software's challenging action-RPG into the art of Japanese haiku. The response was overwhelming; impromptu poets in the G.I. community distilled the essence of myriad aspects of Bloodborne into over 200 haiku. We've finally finished combing through all the entries and are serving up the best of the best in a Bloodborne poetry jam, a sentence I never dreamed I'd write.
Note: The winning poems are presented in the following order for the sake of variety; it is not meant to be indicative of their quality. They have also been italicized to make them seem classy.
bells ringing, moon
high
the curse of blood, please bless us
is this all a dream?
–The
Duchess
sting of constant
death
gives way to such sweet triumph
a hunt for legend
–thinkle41
Yharnam is sunless
forever lit by moonlight
cannot praise the sun
–ResignedGorilla
born of the old blood
your greatest nightmare is real...
a blood-starved beast
–feyd666
the silent distress
written upon the echoes
a blood symphony
–chaotikal
the hardest challenge
patience hangs by a thin thread
please god stop loading
