E3 2015's Confirmed No Shows

E3 is always full of surprise appearance and announcements, but ahead of the show there are always a few titles we know won’t be showing up. These are games we would love to learn more about, but its creators have openly acknowledged they will not be appearing, in the interest of tempering our expectations.

The Legend of Zelda Wii U
Arguably the biggest disappointment in terms of no-shows for E3 2015, The Legend of Zelda Wii U will not be at the show. Up until March of this year, we fully expected to not only see Zelda Wii U at E3, but also get our hands on the game ahead of its holiday 2015 release. Sadly, that all fell apart when series producer Eiji Aonuma took to YouTube to not only announce the game’s delay, but let us know the game wouldn’t be appearing at E3. We have hopes that the game will make a surprise appearance in the form of a short teaser trailer, or maybe some new screenshots, but Nintendo has said unequivocally that the game will not be at E3.

Titanfall 2
Titanfall released exclusively for Microsoft platforms in early 2014, and based on the studio’s annualized Call of Duty history, it’s not a stretch to assume we would learn more about the sequel (or some other Respawn project) at E3 2015. That was quickly shot down, however, by developer Respawn founder Vince Zampella. In an earnings call, Respawn said to not expect any news until after April 1, 2016, and when asked directly about E3 Zampella said the studio has its head down working on its next project. Zampella also tweeted as much just to further reiterate Respawn’s lack of E3 appearance.

Final Fantasy XV
Despite the overall positive buzz resulting from Final Fantasy XV's demo earlier this year, the game's director Hajime Tabata recently stated that more details about the game will be at Gamescom, but it will be skipping E3 this year.

Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt Red is hard at work supporting the recently released Witcher 3, but it does have another game in the works with Cyberpunk 2077. Little is known about the game outside some science-fiction images and a short teaser trailer, and it sounds like E3 won’t offer any new details.
