Another week, another great collection of blogs. Highlights from this week include two well-done reviews, a community event for a good cause, and a look through video game versions of New York City.

Game Informer – Extra Life 2015 Kick-Off!
If you're interested in watching people play a bunch of video games for a good
cause, you should check out Game Informer's Extra Life event hosted by Zachary
Pligge. A goal of $25,000 has been set for this year, and Team GI thinks the
community can surpass it.
An
Idea For A New Crash Bandicoot Game
Born4this has some crazy ideas for a new Crash Bandicoot game. I'm not sure it
would really work, but I'd welcome the return of the bandicoot – crazy ideas and
all.
Why Is Nathan Drake The Best?
Sam_Lincoln's super-short blog sings praise for Nathan Drake. I agree that the
character is pretty cool, having just played through the trio of PS3 games this
past winter. Anyone else like Drake?
My Top 25 Favorite Video Games: The Top Five
Servant of God picks five great games for his favorites, including Resident
Evil 4 and...Metal Gear Solid 2? Yes – he went there. My list would look quite
different, but MGS2 is a damn fine game, and Resident Evil 4 would make my top
10.
Are
Season Passes Worth Your Money?
Whirz asks a serious question of season passes. They're usually kind of pricey
for the content gamers get, and the recent Batman: Arkham Knight has failed to
make a good impression with its lackluster pass. I'm keen on buying Game of the
Year editions if a game has a lot of DLC, or just getting it on sale.
A
Tour of New York City Through Games
GoldenBoy99 takes us on a virtual tour of New York City as its been portrayed in video
games. He gives out awards for the most accurate and visually stunning, which
is really cool. Side note: There are a lot of games that take place in NYC.

10 Most Useless Items in Games
StarterPack writes about an eclectic group of items he finds to be quite
useless. It's an interesting read, but I can't agree with the Mario Kart banana
peel. While it's usually easy to avoid, there will always be that one race
where the banana wrapper stops your plans for glory in an instant.
Tembo
the Badass Elephant Impressions
Happydude633 writes about an elephant. But this isn't just any elephant;
Pokémon developer Game Freak created this badass elephant. The result is a fun
game with a lackluster story told through sweet comic book panels. I was sold
at elephant.
Community Reviews:
Onechanbara
Z2 Chaos Review: A Bloody Good Time
Enuo braved Onechanbara to give us a review on the gory, vulgar action game.
According to our reviewer, the game is short but fun, and full of great
action. It's rough around the edges, but it'll get you through a boring
weekend.
Batman:
Arkham Knight Review (PS4)
Boxcar182 loves the latest and final Rocksteady Batman game. I've only recently
begun playing, but have found the Batmobile to be both fun and superfluous. I
also found the intro to be kind of boring...and the rest of the first three or
so hours has followed suit.
Community Writing Challenge:
What is gaming in the summer like for you? Do you play less and enjoy the sun? Or do you take the time away from school or college to play all of the games you've kept unopened? Tell us what summer gaming is like for you!
Community Playdate:
Two Rocket League playdates have been completed. Both have been fantastic fun, so we're going to play again this Sunday at 7:00 p.m. CST. Make sure to add me, Louiskensei, to your PS4 friend list and let me know if you're playing in the comments!
I hope you enjoy the blogs! Please contact me via my Game Informer page or on Twitter at @LouisGarcia12 with any blog news or playdate suggestions.
