Replay – Fallout: Brotherhood Of Steel

Everyone knows about the numbered Fallouts, but the series did have a few offshoots before Bethesda reinvigorated the franchise with Fallout 3. Today we look at one that has become mostly forgotten.

Released in 2004 and developed by Interplay, Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel used the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance engine to create a Fallout action RPG. The intentions were noble – create a game similar to the popular Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, add guns and set it in the Fallout universe, but the results were mixed. It garnered mostly middling reviews, marked Interplay's last Fallout title, and was the beginning of a four year gap in the series that wasn't ended until the release of Fallout 3 in 2008.

We skipped the game's opening, dialogue heavy moments and opted to jump straight to the game's first boss. Make sure to stick around for the second segment where we play a little-known mascot platformer that everyone but me inexplicably loved.
